From the roundabout near the airport and on the way down to Gustavia, there is the Domaine Felicité. Its' a museum created by Arlette Magras and . Among other things, Arlette has created a huge family tree of the Magras family. It starts with Jacques Magras and Anne Laplace whose son Jean Baptiste Magras was born in 1734. I don't know how many names are on the tree but there's a lot. Even I get a mention!
The museum is a look into the past and has so many objects of interest, many from the Magras family, that only a visit could explain why you must pay it a visit. There is also the magnificent garden and atour takes at least two hours but you are accompanied by the owners and it's well worth seeing. Check out their Facebook page and do book a visit.

About UsI'm British, originally from London, and Anne-Marie is, as they say, une petite St Barths. Her family, the Magras, have been traced back to the end of the 17th Century but more about that later. ArchivesCategories |
